Officials from the Professional Regulatory Commission visited Tarlac State University for the on-site inspection and monitoring of the BS Accountancy program on June 11, 2026 at the Academic Building, Lucinda Campus.
The Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy, led by Hon. Gloria T. Baysa, together with Ms. Paula Jane A. Penilla, Senior Professional Regulations Officer, awarded the program a “very good” rating across all assessment areas.
According to Hon. Baysa, the activity aims to ensure that the revised CPA Licensure Examination subjects are fully integrated into the program's syllabus and table of specifications. Furthermore, it serves as an assessment to identify areas for improvement in the university's board exam performance.
Moreover, she said that if the Accountancy Department completes its requirements immediately, TSU will be the 3rd accountancy program in the country to receive a certificate of compliance.
University president Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza expressed his gratitude to the members of the PRC-PRB and said that TSU does not receive the on-site inspection with fear, but as a privilege.
“Your recommendations are not a verdict; they are a bridge. They will let us rise higher, move forward further than we could have ever moved alone, for we are a community that has chosen to never stand still. Naglilingkod po kami, nagmamahal po kami, at nagbabago po kami,” he said.
The areas evaluated included curriculum, faculty, students, library, facilities, administration, and awards and recognitions.
Dr. Niño B. Corpuz, Director of the Office of Quality Assurance, thanked the delegates for recognizing the university’s institutional strengths.
“Thank you for appreciating and discovering our opportunities for improvement. We accept your recommendations. We will process and internalize. We are going to use your recommendations as our blueprint – our roadmap for quality and excellence, particularly in our accountancy program,” he said.
Present also during the program are CBA Dean Dr. Jhonel C. Panlilio, faculty members of the Accountancy Department, led by its chairperson Dr. Derick S. Figueroa, and some student members of the TSU-JPIA (Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants).
